Temporary Foreign Worker Program

Helping employers hire disadvantaged groups

The federal and provincial governments have various initiatives in place to help Canadians and permanent residents who may have more difficulty than others in finding employment such as Aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities, older workers, youth and newcomers to Canada.  A list of some of these intiatives has been compiled to  assist you in your search for workers.

The list is not meant to be exhaustive. You are encouraged to seek out organizations in your community or region that are in place to assist Canadians and permanent residents with integration into the labour market.

This list is intended to:

  • Assist you in your efforts to hire Canadians and permanent residents before applying to hire temporary foreign workers;
  • Provide you with links to organizations that may help you find workers;
  • Increase prospects for those who are having difficulty finding employment.
