Congratulations to Gerald Michael McCabe, who was awarded the Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal on February 2, 2010.
This medal honours 20 years of exemplary service in fire protection in the federal jurisdiction, at least 10 of which involve potential personal risk.
Gerald began his career as a Firefighter in 1981 in Montréal, where he also served as a Lieutenant and Acting Platoon Chief. In 1999, Gerald joined the Labour Program as a Fire Inspector in Vancouver, and moved to Toronto in 2000. In 2008, Gerald moved to National Headquarters, where he has served as a Program Advisor, Associate Director, and currently as Manager of Occupational Health and Safety and Fire Compliance.
