Engineering Services
Fire Protection Services ensures that federal building construction and renovation projects meet with the Canadian Codes and Standards related to fire safety and prevention. In this capacity, we provide engineering services to clients occupying federal buildings only.
These fire protection-engineering services apply to:
- the construction of new buildings,
- renovations to existing buildings,
- audits of existing buildings, and
- audits of buildings that will be leased or purchased by the Government of Canada.
Engineering services are available to all federal departments and major public band buildings within First Nations Communities. However, the Department of National Defence is an exception. Such fire protection-engineering services are provided internally.
Fire Protection Services also reviews building plans, specifications, and shop drawings, and conducts on-site inspections to ensure that building construction and renovations are in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
