Seniors
HRSDC is committed to improving the well-being and quality of life of seniors and near-seniors through a range of policies, programs and services:
- Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Old Age Security (OAS): Together, the CPP and OAS provide a modest base upon which Canadians can build their retirement income.
- New Horizons for Seniors Program: A federal grants and contributions program that supports projects led or inspired by seniors who make a difference in the lives of others and in their communities.
- Seniors Canada: Provides information on Government of Canada’s support for seniors and the Minister of State (Seniors).
- Elder Abuse (Seniors Canada): Provides information about elder abuse.
- National Seniors Council: Established to advise the Government of Canada on all matters related to the well-being and quality of life of seniors.
- Seniors (Service Canada): Information about benefits available to seniors and information caregivers.
